Ramsomeer Ransomware Description
The Ransomeer ransomware is a newly discovered virus which originates from Turkey. This assumption is given as the ransomware note is delivered in two languages – English and Turkish. At the moment it is still under investigation and we do know if the threat contains any special features other than the observed encryption module.
Ransomeer ransomware uses the AES cipher to encrypt target user data – particularly the most often used multimedia files such as photos, audio and videos, as well as various configuration files, databases, office documents and other sensitive information.
Once the encryption is complete the virus displays the ransom note using a screenlocker which prohibits any further user interaction:

Ramsomeer Ransomware Distribution
According to the analysis the Ransomeer ransomware targets primarily English-speaking users located in the US. The fact that it’s ransomware note is written in the Turkish language as well might mean that its creators are of Turkish origin.
However there have not been any infection reports coming from Turkey. Primary distribution methods employed by malware such as this one include spam email messages and malicious ads.
Browser hijackers are another possible source of infections. Beware of any untrusted download sites and BitTorrent trackers as well.
