The VindowsLocker Ransomware is a new malware that follows typical ransomware behavior by encrypting target user files. This particular strain is still under investigation as it is not known if the malware is descendant from a popular ransomware family or is an indenpendent creation.
Upon infection it blocks the screen and displays a ransom message. In the meantime the encryption engine targets specific user data which is encrypted using a strong cipher. The criminal developers extort the user for both removing the screenlocker and restoring their files.
A wide variety of target file extensions are compromised including various database files, PDF, image, audio and video files and the most frequently used document types – doc, docx, ppt, pptx, xls,xlsx and etc.

– Go under “Hidden files and folders” and mark “Show hidden files and folders” option

4) Click “Apply” and then “OK” button
STEP III: Enter Windows Task Manager and Stop Malicious Processes

1) Hit the following key combination: CTRL+SHIFT+ESC
2) Get over to “Processes”
3) When you find suspicious process right click on it and select “Open File Location”
4) Go back to Task Manager and end the malicious process. Right click on it again and choose “End Process”
5) Next you should go folder where the malicious file is located and delete it
