Padlock Ransomware Description
The Padlock ransomware is a screenlocker type malware that uses agressive social engineering tactics to extort a ransomware sum from the computer victims.
Upon infiltration it displays a photo of a padlocked door with a message stating “YOUR FILES HAVE BEEN DELETED & YOUR PC HAS BEEN LOCKED!!!.
There are two good things about the virus – first it doesn’t reeally delete any files, and the unlock code has been extracted from the binary file.
To unlock the computer the computer users needs to enter “ajVr/G\RJz0R”.
Padlock Ransomware Distribution
It is not known which is the main method of distributing the Padlock ransomware. However it is most likely one of the widely used sources of malware – spam emails, browser hijackers and etc.
The malware is packaged in a single executable binary file.

– Select “Folder and search options”
– Select the “View” tab
– Go under “Hidden files and folders” and mark “Show hidden files and folders” option

– Open “View” tab
– Mark “Hidden items” option
4) Click “Apply” and then “OK” button
STEP III: Enter Windows Task Manager and Stop Malicious Processes

1) Hit the following key combination: CTRL+SHIFT+ESC
2) Get over to “Processes”
3) When you find suspicious process right click on it and select “Open File Location”
4) Go back to Task Manager and end the malicious process. Right click on it again and choose “End Process”
5) Next you should go folder where the malicious file is located and delete it
