Kaandsona Ransomware is a new malware threat that has been identified by security researchers. The virus is also known by the names of Käändsõna ransomware and RansomTroll ransomware.
The name of the ransomware is of Estonian origin (meaning “Nominals”) and from this we assume that the developer is from the Baltic country. The Kaandsona Ransomware features an encryption module which targets specific user file types which are encrypted using a strong cipher. A lot of the popular data includes the most commonly used documents, multimedia files such as images, audio and video, along with various configuration files, backup images and related files.

Kaandsona Ransomware Distribution
The first iterations of the Kaandsona Ransomware were identified in the beginning of January 2017. However the researchers suggest that it has been development since 2016.
It primarily targets English-speaking users and is distributed globally. The malware is distributed as malicious binary files bearing a random name or Kaandsona.exe.

STEP III: Enter Windows Task Manager and Stop Malicious Processes

1) Hit the following key combination: CTRL+SHIFT+ESC
2) Get over to “Processes”
3) When you find suspicious process right click on it and select “Open File Location”
4) Go back to Task Manager and end the malicious process. Right click on it again and choose “End Process”
5) Next you should go folder where the malicious file is located and delete it
