The EncryptoJJS is one of the latest ransomware strains that have appeared in live attacks. At this moment a detailed security analysis has not been completed and we do not know if this is a strain of one of the famous ransomware families or an independent threat.
Upon infection with EncryptoJJS target user file type extension get encrypted using the AES cipher. The hacker operators blackmail the users into paying the requested ransomware sum of 1 Bitcoin to recover their files. When the encryption is complete the virus drops a ransom note with the following name “How to recover.enc.txt”. Its contents reads the following:
