Donald Trump 2 Ransomware Description

Donald Trump 2 ransomware is a new virus that is probably related to the first iteration which we reported.

The ransomware was first reported in November 2016. Upon infection the virus blocks the screen displaying an app window with the title “You Have Been F*cked Mate”.

The displayed message reads the following:

Hello User all your files have been encrypted by Donald J. Trump
Pay in Bitcoin to the adress in the textbox to Decrypt your PC, you can Buy Bitcoins on
https://localbitcoins.com
Now You have 72 Hours left to pay or your Decrypt Key will be Deleted and you Cant get your files Back.

All compromised files are renamed with the .*** file name extension. Unfortunately we do not have the full list of target file extensions yet.

The Donald Trump 2 ransomware is primarily distributed through spame email campaigns that link to the infected binaries, exploit kits and counterfeit software updates.

– Select the “View” tab
– Go under “Hidden files and folders” and mark “Show hidden files and folders” option

3) Windows 8/ 10

– Open “View” tab
– Mark “Hidden items” option



4) Click “Apply” and then “OK” button

STEP III: Enter Windows Task Manager and Stop Malicious Processes

1) Hit the following key combination: CTRL+SHIFT+ESC
2) Get over to “Processes”
3) When you find suspicious process right click on it and select “Open File Location”
4) Go back to Task Manager and end the malicious process. Right click on it again and choose “End Process”
5) Next you should go folder where the malicious file is located and delete it

– Select “Restore your files with File History”
– Choose a folder or type the name of the file in the search bar

– Select “Open System Restore” and follow the steps
